Quality assurance in the data team

The Mapbox data team works with the OpenStreetMap community daily by creating new data,improving existing features, or fixing errors reported by our users. We touch a lot of data everyday. In order to ensure the highest level of quality in our work, we follow a strict process of quality assurance within the team. We do this in several ways. For instance, before uploading any changes, we use the JOSM Validator to fix errors within the area we are working.

Manual peer review

Every week, we review all of our team edits from last week’s mapping projects. We alternate between Ayacucho and Bangalore teams undertaking the review. Our process:
